Press Release - CPC Logistics Canadian corporation acquires Global Driver Service

CPC Logistics, a National U.S. based company specializing in logistics personnel and services is pleased to announce that their Canadian Holding Corporation, Logistics Professionals Limited (LPL) has finalized the acquisition of Global Driver Service, a long standing (since 1978) Canadian Logistics provider and member of the Private Motor Truck Council of Canada.

The acquisition of Global compliments LPL’s other operating companies, CPC Logistics Canada Limited and Huron Services Group Limited, and increases CPC’s presence in Canada with operations being added in New Brunswick and Saskatchewan along with the present operations in Ontario, Alberta and Quebec.

John Bickel Sr., President of CPC Logistics said “Global was a natural fit for our continued expansion into Canada. Their longevity and reputation speak for themselves, and we look forward to their joining the CPC family of companies”.

John Thomson, LPL’s Vice President of Canadian Operations said “Globals’ reputation for quality service and proactive partnerships with their customers together with their long history in Canada make them a perfect fit philosophically and operationally for both CPC in the US and LPL in Canada”.

CPC Logistics forms a new Canadian Corporation that acquires Huron Services Group Limited

Chesterfield, MO, August 4, 2008: CPC Logistics, a national U.S.-based company specializing in contract truck driver and related logistics services, recently formed a new Canadian Corporation, Logistics Professionals Limited, that on August 1, 2008 finalized the acquisition of Huron Services Group Limited, a long-standing leading Canadian logistics firm and member of the Private Motor Truck Council of Canada. CPC’s existing Canadian company, CPC Logistics Canada Limited, will now also be a subsidiary of Logistics Professionals Ltd. and together with the acquisition of Huron will enhance the resources of CPC Canada’s existing operations and will assist in expanding Huron’s current service offerings in the provinces of Alberta, Ontario and Quebec, Canada.

John T. Bickel, Sr., President of CPC Logistics said “We had been aware of Huron’s outstanding reputation for providing high quality logistics services in Canada. They have been in business for forty years and their philosophy for customer service and cooperation mirrors ours. When this opportunity was presented to CPC we immediately took steps to close the transaction as soon as possible.”

CPC is celebrating its 35th year in providing professional transportation and logistics services to many Fortune 500 firms that operate private fleets. Due to internal growth and external acquisitions, CPC has grown to over 4,000 employees providing the services of truck operators, warehouse workers, dispatchers, fleet management and administrative support personnel from its 25 field offices. Additionally, the firm provides other logistical services to assist private carriers in effective fleet management. The combined entities of CPC Canada Limited and Huron Services Group Limited will draw on Huron’s 40 year service record and CPC Canada’s existing resources, to bring its services to many leading Canadian Corporations.

Huron Group Promotes Two Staff Members

Huron announces the following promotions in the organization:

Pam Bazak is promoted to Operations Supervisor, Scarborough Distribution Centre. Pam is almost 20 years with the company and earned this new posting with excellent performance in all the previous positions she has held.

Vern Kuntzie is promoted to Operations Co-ordinator, Scarborough Distribution Centre. He will be responsible for all “shop floor” activities and will respond to Pam in his new role. Well earned as well.

We congratulate Pam and Vern and wish them the very best going forward.

Donated Hockey Tickets from Huron Group Helps Raise $2500 for a Great Cause

Hurons’ contribution of a pair of Toronto Maple Leaf tickets helped raise $2,500.00 for Avenue Road Public School in Cambridge Ontario

The Grand Prize in their annual “Hockey Night in Cambridge” was a pair of Gold Seats for the Leafs vs. Montreal. Ticket sales were brisk and 100% of the proceeds went to programs for special needs students at the school.

Similarly, Huron provided both the first and second draw prizes for the annual winter fund raising raffle for the 1188 Lorne Scots Cadet Corps in Oakville. The proceeds of the draw, held at the end of February, will go towards a summer trip to Greece for Senior Cadets.
